Terms of Use

Please read these terms carefully before using Velune. By using the app, you agree to them.

1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing, or using Velune ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the App. These terms are a legal agreement between you and Openverse. We may update them at any time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

2. Use of service

Velune is an AI dream interpreter and reflection app: log a dream by voice or text, and Velune matches it against a 300-symbol dictionary, offers AI-assisted interpretations, surfaces patterns over time, and keeps a private journal.

You agree to:

  • Use the App for personal reflection and entertainment
  • Keep your optional account credentials secure
  • Not reverse engineer, modify, or distribute the App
  • Not use the App for any unlawful purpose

You must be at least 17 years of age to use Velune, consistent with its App Store age rating.

3. Entertainment disclaimer

Velune is for entertainment and self-reflection purposes only.

  • Dream interpretations, including AI-generated ones, are a tool for reflection — not factual predictions or professional guidance.
  • Dreams are symbolic. Dreaming of things like death, illness, or pregnancy is ordinary dream content and is never treated as a prediction about your life.
  • Interpretations do not foretell the future and must not be treated as certainty about health, legal, financial, or any other outcomes.
  • The App does not provide medical, legal, or financial advice — consult a qualified professional for those decisions.
  • AI interpretations are generated text and may be imperfect; use your own judgment.
  • If you are in crisis or experiencing an emergency, contact your local emergency services or a crisis hotline immediately.

4. User accounts

An account is optional — every core feature works without one. If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining its confidentiality and for notifying us of any unauthorized use. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time in the App's Profile settings. Account creation requires a valid email address; we use Firebase Authentication to manage accounts securely.

5. Data & privacy

Your use of Velune is also governed by our Privacy Policy. In short: your dreams and journal are stored locally on your device; voice is transcribed by Apple and never recorded or uploaded by us; AI requests are processed ephemerally and never stored; free users see ads from Google AdMob while Velune Plus removes all ads; and you own your data and can export or delete it at any time.

6. Subscriptions & payments

  • The free tier includes unlimited dream logging, the full 300-symbol dictionary, basic patterns, and 3 AI interpretations every day — forever.
  • Velune Plus ($3.99/month or $24.99/year, with a 3-day free trial) unlocks unlimited AI interpretations, deeper pattern insights, and removes all ads.
  • Subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store, renew automatically until cancelled, and are subject to Apple's terms.
  • Manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID settings.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple per their refund policy.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Velune is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
  • Interpretations are for entertainment and reflection; we do not guarantee their accuracy or applicability to your circumstances.
  • We are not liable for any decisions made based on interpretations from the App.
  • We are not responsible for data loss due to device failure, accidental deletion, or circumstances beyond our control.
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the preceding 12 months.

You agree to use the App at your own risk.

8. Intellectual property

All content, features, and functionality of Velune — including text, symbol interpretations, graphics, logos, and software — are the property of Openverse and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Your dream entries and journal remain your property; we claim no ownership over anything you write in the App.

9. Changes to terms

We may revise these terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated in the App. The "Last updated" date above indicates the latest revision. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
